BMW Korea launched the gasoline model 'X2 xDrive20i' of the compact Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) X2 in the domestic market on the 4th.
The BMW X2 is the first model to introduce the SAC concept in the premium compact car market and is a completely redesigned model unveiled after six years since 2018.
The design of the BMW X2 emphasizes a larger body and an elegant silhouette compared to the previous generation. The length increased by 195 mm, width by 5 mm, and height by 65 mm, while the wheelbase was extended by 20 mm, resulting in more spacious seating and trunk space. The hexagonal BMW kidney grille features the 'BMW Iconic Glow' radiator grille lighting, which is applied as standard for the first time in BMW's compact segment.
The interior space has also been expanded compared to the previous generation. A driver-focused BMW Curved Display combining a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch control display is equipped as standard.
The X2 is equipped with BMW's latest operating system, BMW Operating System (OS) 9. BMW OS 9 features a touch-centered intuitive user interface that allows vehicle functions to be controlled comfortably and familiarly, much like a smartphone.
The latest BMW OS 9 includes the 'Korean BMW Navigation' based on TMAP, developed in collaboration between BMW Korea and TMAP Mobility. It provides optimal route guidance by updating all map information in real-time, including the latest traffic conditions, based on an online streaming map.
The gasoline model BMW X2 xDrive20i is equipped with a BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine delivering a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a peak torque of 30.6 kg·m, paired with a 7-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with a double-clutch system. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds, with an official fuel efficiency of 10.8 km/ℓ combined.
The new X2 is initially launched as a single model, the 'X2 xDrive20i M Sport Package,' priced at 68.3 million KRW (including VAT). Following the launch of this gasoline model, BMW Korea plans to consecutively release a pure electric model and a high-performance gasoline model in the second half of this year.
