Residents Plant 50,000 Purple Liriope Muscari
Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that they planted Liriope muscari inside Seokmun Park on the 2nd.
On that day, the work was carried out with the participation of employees from the Gangjin-gun Forestry Department, residents of Doam-myeon, heads of social organizations, Councilor Kim Chang-ju, Vice Chairman Yoo Kyung-sook, and Mrs. Choi Hae-jin, all working hard together. The participants planted a total of 50,000 Liriope muscari plants, creating a new attraction for tourists visiting Seokmun Park.
Liriope muscari is a perennial plant of the lily family, monocotyledonous, with a height of 30 to 50 cm, and light purple flowers that bloom from May to August. The flower language of Liriope muscari is known to represent "humility, patience, and continuous joy."
The residents voluntarily participated in revitalizing Seokmun Park, expressing in unison, "We felt rewarded to contribute to the local community, and it became an opportunity to strengthen the unity among residents."
Gang Jin-won, the county governor, said, "I thank everyone who participated in the flower planting event to cultivate the beautiful Seokmun Park," adding, "We will provide residents with a pleasant park environment and approach tourists with the beautiful scenery of Gangjin in every corner, so that more people can visit Gangjin."
