Pringles to Reduce Packaging Size... "Expecting Annual Savings of 114 Tons"

Reduce Packaging Size for 110g and 53g Products

Pringles is taking steps to reduce packaging sizes as part of its efforts to save resources and promote a sustainable environment.

On the 4th, Pringles announced that it will reduce the height of the 110g can from 206mm to 194mm and the 53g can from 115mm to 100mm, cutting 12mm and 15mm respectively. The height of the product packaging boxes will also be reduced by 12mm for the 110g product and 14mm for the 53g product.

The company expects that this reduction in packaging size will not only save resources but also allow more products to be loaded onto delivery vehicles, positively impacting the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. Since February, Pringles has been changing the packaging of products sold in supermarkets and convenience stores, and the new packaging will be applied sequentially as inventory is depleted.

Since 2022, Pringles has been gradually implementing packaging changes, including reducing packaging size and plastic lid usage, cutting plastic consumption by 34 tons annually. In the future, the company plans to switch all product packaging to 100% recyclable materials.
