Doosan Construction announced on the 3rd that it has donated 10 million KRW, including the proceeds from the auction of memorabilia from the We’ve Golf Team, to the Animal Protection Association in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The donation destination was decided reflecting the opinions of the players.

The auction was held from January 4 to 11, featuring memorabilia from five affiliated players (Yu Hyun-joo, Yoo Hyo-joo, Park Gyeol, Kim Min-seol, Lim Hee-jung). The highest-priced item was a putter owned by pro Yu Hyun-joo, which was sold for 2.2 million KRW after 27 bids. Park Gyeol’s clothing items saw competitive bidding until the very end, resulting in the closing time being extended by about an hour.
The Doosan Construction We’ve Golf Team operates as a sports team linked with social contribution. In its inaugural year last year, it donated a total of 58.68 million KRW to support flood damage recovery, the development of sports for the disabled, and youth golf development. The affiliated players also engage in various social contribution activities individually, such as delivering happiness funds for pediatric patients and donations for children with leukemia together with their fan clubs.
Doosan Construction plans to carry out various donation activities this year as well. In addition to the 'Love Birdie Fund' based on player performance, a charity zone will be set up at the 10th hole during the 'Doosan Construction We’ve Championship' starting on the 4th, where 500,000 KRW will be donated each time a player’s tee shot lands successfully (up to a maximum of 20 million KRW). All proceeds from ticket sales for the tournament will also be donated.
A Doosan Construction official said, "As the Doosan Construction We’ve Championship marks the opening event of the KLPGA domestic season and signals the start of the festival, we will make it a tournament that contributes to the environment and social responsibility."
