Tourists Complain of Inconvenience... Tarnishing Local Image
County: "We Apologize for the Inconvenience and Will Do Our Best to Manage"
Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Hee-soo) is facing ongoing inconvenience for tourists and residents due to inadequate management and maintenance of the free public parking lots it operates.
On the 3rd, potholes were found scattered across the floor of the parking lot near Arirang Fisheries Market in Jindo-eup, causing difficulties for vehicle entry and exit. Additionally, traffic accident prevention mirrors were found uprooted and left lying on the ground.

This situation raises concerns about potential safety accidents for the disabled, elderly, and children when moving around.
A tourist surnamed Ha (30s, Seoul), who used the public parking lot that day, said, "It rained heavily today, and I had to get out of the car holding an umbrella, but I had to avoid potholes that were ankle-deep." He added, "I thought Jindo was a tourist city, but even the public parking lot is not properly managed, which seems to tarnish the local image."
Regarding this, a county official said, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused," and added, "We have requested prompt action from the maintenance company and will do our best to maintain and manage the facilities going forward."
