Launched with the Purpose of Advancing Regional Nuclear Power Projects
On the 3rd, the Muan Nonghyup Haeje Branch in Jeonnam held the launch ceremony of the Muan-gun Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant Radiation Countermeasures Committee (Chairman No Jong-seong).
The event was attended by Kim San, the governor of Muan-gun, Muan-gun Council members Kim Won-jung and Lee Ho-seong, and about 100 local residents.

The Muan-gun Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant Radiation Countermeasures Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) is composed of the chairman, advisors, vice-chairmen, representatives of five fishing villages in Haeje-myeon, village heads, and resident representatives. It was launched with the purpose of seeking countermeasures at the community level regarding safety issues of the Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant for Muan residents and the government's nuclear power policies, and striving for the development of the local nuclear power project.
At the launch ceremony, the Committee discussed its activities, functions, and future plans. It plans to actively carry out activities by gathering opinions on proposals for the nuclear power local resource facility tax project and radiation disaster prevention education for residents.
No Jong-seong, chairman of the Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant Radiation Countermeasures Committee, said, “We ask for your great interest and encouragement so that we can work hard to ensure the safety of Muan residents, which is our Committee’s top priority.”
