1400 Students from 40 Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in Chungnam from April to October
The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Korea University of Technology and Education (KOREATECH) is operating a 'Visiting Digital Classroom for Local Youth.'
The 'Visiting Digital Classroom' is part of the 'K-High Tech Platform' project carried out by KOREATECH, aimed at enhancing understanding of core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution and strengthening basic digital competencies for students in local elementary, middle, and high schools.
Last year, various programs in the field of digital new technologies were provided to 3,004 students from 86 elementary, middle, and high schools located in Chungnam Province.
This year, in addition to hands-on education using teaching aids for new technologies such as artificial intelligence, drones, IoT, and VR, new programs have been established to prevent digital dysfunctions such as cyberbullying, digital etiquette, and online identity, taking the lead in fostering a healthy digital culture among local youth.
The program is scheduled to run for six months from the 9th, starting at Asan Sinchang Middle School, targeting 1,400 students from 40 elementary, middle, and high schools located in Chungnam Province until the end of October.
Min Jun-gi, head of KOREATECH's Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, said, "Through the Visiting Digital Classroom, we hope to strengthen local youth's basic digital competencies and establish a healthy digital culture," adding, "We will continue to expand support activities linked with the local community through ongoing reflection and efforts to fulfill the university's social responsibilities."
