Gyeongnam Nonghyup and National Changwon University Collaborate on Social Contribution Activities and Rural Workforce Support

Gyeongnam Nonghyup and Changwon National University signed a "Memorandum of Understanding for Social Contribution Activities and Activation of Rural Workforce Support" on the 2nd at the main campus of Changwon National University, with about 10 officials in attendance.

Both organizations promised mutual cooperation to support and develop rural areas through business cooperation such as ▲recognition of volunteer hours for students participating in rural labor assistance ▲support for expenses and university development funds necessary for rural labor assistance ▲talent donation volunteer activities by university students, aiming to expand social contribution and resolve rural labor shortages.

In addition, both organizations agreed to gradually expand the scope of collaboration for local social contribution and maintain a continuous cooperative relationship.

Director Cho Geun-soo said, "We expect that the participation of Changwon National University students will greatly help solve the rural labor shortage problem," and added, "Gyeongnam Nonghyup will do its best to assist vulnerable and small-scale farms during the farming season in cooperation with Changwon National University."

President Park Min-won stated, "In a situation where rural labor is lacking during the busy farming season due to aging and a decrease in the young population, our university's students and faculty will do their best to be of help."

Gyeongnam Nonghyup operates the "University Student Rural Workforce Support Group" annually to resolve the chronic rural labor shortage. It is cooperating with Gyeongsang National University, Changshin University, Gaya University, and Inje University in the Gyeongnam area.
