Among the civil complaints received by the Daejeon City Council during the first quarter of this year, complaints related to roads and transportation were the most numerous.
An analysis of 29 complaints received by the Daejeon City Council in the first quarter (January to March) revealed that about 41% of the complaints were related to inconveniences in road and transportation use, such as illegal parking enforcement, city bus routes, traffic signal timing adjustments, crosswalk installations, and pothole repairs during the thawing season.
This was followed by complaints in the education and welfare sector (17%), economic and science sector (14%), and then complaints related to housing and construction, culture and tourism, and sports and health.
Complaints regarding companion animals, such as those about companion animal parks and animal protection centers, also continued. At the 276th extraordinary session, the Daejeon City Council established the basis for projects necessary for managing stray cats through the partial amendment of the “Daejeon City Animal Protection Ordinance.”
The Daejeon City Council provided the complaints to relevant agencies and the corresponding standing committees to ensure that specific responses were handled promptly within the processing deadlines.
Chairman Lee Sang-rae of the Daejeon City Council stated, “We will focus on field-centered legislative activities that actively seek out complaint sites to listen to citizens and communicate with them, swiftly resolving difficulties.”
