Status Check on the Promotion of Sangnim Landscape Complex
Jin Byeong-yeong, the governor of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, visited the Sangnim Landscape Complex construction project and the export strawberry joint sorting center site to check the progress and listen to any difficulties.
On the 2nd, Governor Jin visited the landscape complex within the thousand-year-old forest Sangnim Park to confirm the progress of the Sangnim Landscape Complex construction project.
The Sangnim Landscape Complex construction project is being promoted to provide a comfortable resting space for local residents and enhance the value of tourism resources by planting flowers over 5.3 hectares next to Sangnim Park, the oldest artificial forest in Korea, offering a splendid visual attraction.
County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong is inspecting the site of the Sangnim Landscape Complex Development Project.
In May and June, flowers such as cosmos and lupines that offer vibrant colors will be planted, and in autumn, various flowers like willow verbena and yellow cosmos that harmonize with the Sangnim autumn foliage will be planted to provide visitors with visual enjoyment.
Additionally, to improve facilities, old drainage channels will be renovated, and a performance stage will be installed in the resting area for street performances, preparing Sangnim Park to become a diverse cultural space that offers not only sights but also entertainment.
Governor Jin said, “If the landscape complex becomes a landmark in connection with Sangnim Park, it will not only satisfy the residents but also increase the number of external tourists visiting Sangnim Park,” and urged, “Please do your best in planting and managing the flowers going forward.”
Following this, Governor Jin visited the export strawberry joint sorting center in Jigok-myeon, directly observing the sorting and inspection process and listening to the difficulties faced by export strawberry producers and the sorting center operating groups on site.
Hamyang-gun sorts 30 tons of strawberries annually and steadily exports them to Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong, continuously striving to maintain quality control so that the strawberries are recognized as high-quality products in overseas markets.
Governor Jin said, “Through this site visit, I was able to once again realize the importance of the sorting process and quality control of export strawberries,” and added, “Please continue to do your best to contribute to increasing farmers’ income through continuous overseas market development.”
