Daytime Trading Available for US Stocks
Trading Hours Extended to 21.5 Hours a Day
Kakao Pay Securities announced on the 3rd that it will launch the weekly trading service for U.S. stocks called 'Day Market.'
The extended trading hours through the Day Market service are 7 hours, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. based on daylight saving time. When combined with the existing pre-market (17:00~22:30), regular market (22:30~05:00), and after-market (05:00~07:30) trading hours, U.S. stocks can be traded for a total of 21.5 hours per day.
The Day Market service can be used on the same screen as the regular market. Kakao Pay Securities provides a continuous line chart that connects Day Market, regular market, and after-market sessions into one chart, allowing users to intuitively grasp the price trends throughout the day. The integrated margin service, which reduces unnecessary currency exchanges by using the available order amount in currencies other than the trading currency, is also provided as in the existing market.
The Day Market service is offered through a partnership with Blue Ocean, an alternative trading system (ATS) approved by the U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and allows trading of all stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, and AMEX within the U.S.
Day Market trading through Kakao Pay Securities will be available from the 3rd onward on Kakao Pay app version 2.27.5 or higher. It will also be available from 9 a.m. on the 4th via the 'Stocks' page within Kakao Pay Home on KakaoTalk.
A representative from Kakao Pay Securities stated, "We have resolved the inconvenience of trading hours, which was the biggest constraint for U.S. stock investors, enabling flexible response to the rapidly changing U.S. stock market. We will continue to develop the service so that all investors trading through Kakao Pay Securities can experience investing without burden."
