Another Magnitude 5.5 Aftershock Occurs in Taiwan Waters

China Earthquake Network Center reported that a magnitude 5.5 earthquake occurred at 8:46 a.m. on the 3rd in the sea area of Hualien County, Taiwan.

This aftershock occurred about 5 km away from the epicenter.

Earlier, at 7:58 a.m., a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.3 occurred in the sea area of Hualien County, Taiwan. The depth of the epicenter was 20 km, and the earthquake occurred about 7 km away from Hualien, a city in eastern Taiwan with a population of 350,000.

Subsequently, at 8:11 a.m., an aftershock of magnitude 6.0 occurred, with the epicenter depth observed at 10 km.
