People Power Party "Malicious Election Interference"
Baek Hyun-jin "Is This Person a People Power Party Candidate?"
The People Power Party announced legal action against MBC for using the People Power Party logo while reporting on the controversy surrounding Kim Jun-hyeok, the Democratic Party candidate for Suwon-jeong, Gyeonggi Province, involving his offensive remarks about 'sexual bribery.'
On the 2nd, the People Power Party stated in a press release, "MBC News Desk exposed the People Power Party logo instead of the Democratic Party's while reporting on Kim candidate's offensive remarks through malicious screen placement. We will take strong legal action against MBC's election interference." This implies that Kim candidate might appear to be affiliated with the People Power Party.
Bae Hyun-jin, a People Power Party candidate for Seoul Songpa-eul and former MBC announcer, criticized on her social media, "Is this person a People Power Party candidate? Why did MBC attach our People Power Party logo to the news about the Democratic Party candidate’s dirty slander claiming Ewha Womans University students committed sexual bribery?"
Previously, in August 2022, Kim made a statement on a YouTube broadcast saying, "Kim Hwal-ran, the first president of Ewha Womans University, played a major role in sending comfort women," and "During the U.S. military government period, Ewha Womans University students were sexually bribed to U.S. officers." Kim also sparked controversy with remarks such as "Former President Park Chung-hee had sexual relations with comfort women and elementary school students."
