Gangbuk-gu, Mia-dong 345-1 Area Selected as Rapid Integrated Planning Redevelopment Candidate Site

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on March 29 that the area around 345-1 Mia-dong has been selected as a candidate site for the 2nd Rapid Integrated Planning Housing Redevelopment Project in 2024.

The selected area requires residential environment improvement due to poor infrastructure such as aging and a high proportion of semi-basement houses, and the redevelopment intention and desire of residents are high, with a majority consent rate.

Gangbuk-gu plans to initiate the establishment of a maintenance plan and designation of the maintenance area for the site in the first half of this year, gathering residents' opinions to formulate the plan.

Additionally, according to Seoul City's anti-speculation measures for redevelopment candidate sites, the reference date for rights calculation for the selected area has been set as January 12, 2024, and it will be designated as a land transaction permission zone and a building permit restriction zone in the future.

Meanwhile, to promote rapid and stable progress of redevelopment and reconstruction projects, Gangbuk-gu has established a Redevelopment and Reconstruction Support Team directly under the mayor’s office, and is carrying out various support projects for residents such as public contest projects like Moa Town and Rapid Integrated Planning, on-site consultation centers, maintenance project academies, and preliminary resident briefings.

On April 1 of this year, the "Gangbuk-gu Residential Area Maintenance Basic Plan Establishment Service" was launched to design maintenance directions for the entire district, helping residents to carry out maintenance projects more efficiently.

A Gangbuk-gu office official stated, "We will actively support smooth progress of redevelopment and reconstruction by cooperating with local residents, Seoul City, and experts."
