'Chijijik' Feels Like Just the Other Day... Now Beyond Africa

Naver's game streaming platform 'Chijijik,' launched at the end of last year, has topped the mobile application (app) user rankings for the first time, surpassing 'AfreecaTV,' according to a recent survey.

'Chijijik' Feels Like Just the Other Day... Now Beyond Africa

On the 2nd, WiseApp, Retail, and Goods, app and retail analysis services, surveyed Korean smartphone users (Android + iOS) and found that last month, Chijijik app users reached 2.16 million, exceeding AfreecaTV app users at 1.96 million.

The number of mobile app users for Chijijik nearly doubled in three months, rising from 1.11 million in December last year. It is interpreted that many users of the global game streaming company 'Twitch,' which withdrew from Korea on February 27, moved to Chijijik, allowing it to surpass AfreecaTV and claim the top spot among personal broadcasting apps just three months after its launch.

WiseApp analyzed, "The rapid trust gained from personal broadcasters (streamers) and users due to the service being provided by Naver was a major factor in the increase of Chijijik users."

Last month, the mobile application usage time for AfreecaTV was 710 million minutes, nearly twice that of Chijijik's 360 million minutes. The average usage time per person was also more than double for AfreecaTV at 6 hours and 2 minutes, compared to Chijijik's 2 hours and 49 minutes.
