Joint Hybrid 'MICE DAY' Held in Collaboration with Other Cities and Provinces
Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) is joining forces with Jeollanam-do Province and Jeonju City to promote the decentralization of MICE events concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area and to attract overseas MICE events.
According to the city, from the 2nd to the 5th, Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do Tourism Foundation, and Jeonju City will jointly hold ‘MICE DAY,’ which includes an online briefing session and a fam tour to attract overseas MICE events.
‘MICE DAY’ is Yeosu City’s representative MICE attraction marketing strategy aimed at continuous promotion and overseas networking amid the contraction of the MICE industry due to COVID-19. While it has been conducted online so far, this year it will be promoted in a hybrid format combining online and offline.
First, on the 4th, an online and offline briefing session introducing MICE incentive support details and infrastructure will be held at the temporary annex meeting room in Gukdong.
At the venue, MICE stakeholders from other regions including overseas invitees will participate, and online, about 100 companies including overseas specialized travel agencies, PCO companies, corporations, and domestic inbound travel agencies will join the briefing session.
Additionally, from the 2nd to the 5th, a 3-night 4-day fam tour will be conducted with 12 MICE stakeholders from three countries: Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The tour program connects Incheon Airport - Jeonju - Yeosu - Incheon Airport, introducing them to representative tourist attractions and MICE facilities.
Shin Young-ja, Director of the Tourism Division, stated, “Yeosu City is gradually gaining recognition overseas with its excellent MICE infrastructure, leading to tangible overseas MICE attraction.” She added, “We will not be complacent and will further accelerate the growth of the MICE industry through cooperation with other cities and provinces, enabling Yeosu to leap forward as the representative city of the southern mid-region of the South Coast.”
