Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 2nd that the 2024 Jeongeup Cherry Blossom Festival, held around the Cheonbyeon Children's Soccer Field, concluded successfully with over 170,000 visitors.
The festival was originally scheduled to run from March 28 to April 1, but since the cherry blossoms bloomed later than expected, it was extended by one day and ended on the 2nd to ease the disappointment of citizens and tourists.

Although the festival opened on a rainy first day, it gradually regained the spirit of spring from the second day onward, capturing the attention and footsteps of family tourists.
The opening ceremony celebration performances by Jeongeup promotional ambassadors Kim Yong-im, Kim Tae-yeon, and Bang Seo-hee, as well as famous singers Kim Seong-hwan and Bae Il-ho, kicked off the festival in a spectacular fashion.
The festival site was filled with tourists enjoying various snacks and experiences, and it was crowded with people watching the performances. Many visitors were seen lining up in front of the food booths.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “Although it was disappointing that the cherry blossoms bloomed late, many blossoms bloomed over the weekend and visitors continued to come, making it a festival where everyone could come together. We will continue to prioritize safety and strive to hold unique festivals full of more attractions and enjoyable activities that are distinctive to Jeongeup.”
