A realistic experience service that vividly recreates Lotte World’s ride 'Atlantis' using 5G communication will begin tomorrow (the 3rd).

According to the Ministry of Science and ICT on the 2nd, a realistic experience service that virtually and vividly reproduces the actual ride will start on the 3rd by utilizing the ultra-high-speed 28 GHz specialized network (Eum5G). The Ministry of Science and ICT is supporting the development and expansion of various services and technologies that utilize the characteristics of the 5G 28 GHz frequency band, such as providing large-capacity immersive content.

The newly opened facility was built through a consortium consisting of Gama, Newgens, the Digital Media Industry Promotion Association, and Lotte World.

High-definition operation videos and movements collected through cameras and sensors installed on the roller coaster 'Atlantis' are transmitted via the 28 GHz network and virtually reproduced using motion simulators, large screens, and sound equipment.

Anyone over 100 cm tall can vividly experience a ride similar to the actual amusement facility without delay, regardless of weather conditions.

The 28 GHz specialized network-based technology is expected to be applied and expanded into various fields such as immersive sports broadcasting and experiential educational services in the future.

Jeon Young-su, Director of the Information and Communication Industry Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, "We hope that through the immersive experience facility, many citizens will have the opportunity to directly feel the advantages of the 28 GHz specialized network capable of large-capacity ultra-high-speed services."
