Cultural Heritage Administration and Happy City Agency Business Agreement
Installation and Attraction of National Heritage Preservation and Enjoyment Facilities
On the 1st, the Cultural Heritage Administration signed a business agreement with the Administrative City Construction Agency at the Natural Monument Center in Seo-gu, Daejeon, to establish the National Digital Cultural Heritage Center and expand national heritage content. Moving forward, they will jointly promote the construction and opening of the National Digital Cultural Heritage Center within the National Museum Complex, as well as the installation and attraction of national heritage preservation and enjoyment facilities. A collaborative system will also be established to help the Administrative City (Haengbok City) grow into a world-class city of cultural, natural, and intangible heritage.
The two organizations will form a working-level council to specify mutual cooperation matters. Additionally, they will expand national heritage content to broaden the public's opportunities to enjoy culture. A Cultural Heritage Administration official stated, "The project to build the National Digital Cultural Heritage Center, which has been underway since 2016, will gain further momentum." The expected opening date is 2017.
Choi Eung-cheon, Administrator of the Cultural Heritage Administration, said, "We will spread national heritage content nationwide centered on Haengbok City." Kim Hyeong-ryeol, Administrator of the Haengbok Agency, said, "We will make Haengbok City a vibrant and attractive cultural city with various sights and entertainment."
