Frying Robot Introduced by LG Electronics Internal Venture
Maximizes Franchise Operation Efficiency... Enables Consistent Cooking
Chicken franchise bhc Chicken is expanding the operation of the ‘Frying Robot’ launched by LG Electronics’ in-house venture to major stores nationwide.
bhc Chicken announced on the 1st that it signed a business agreement with LG Electronics on the 29th of last month at LG Science Park in Magok, Seoul, to jointly promote the distribution of the ‘Frying Robot (TwiBot)’.
LG Electronics Executive Director Seo Young-duk, Head of Commercial Business Unit 1, and bhc Franchise Business Headquarters Director Moon Sang-man are taking a commemorative photo for the signing of the MOU on the joint business of the 'Frying Robot'.
Through this agreement, bhc Chicken plans to expand the TwiBot, which has been piloted since the second half of last year starting with the ‘bhc Chicken Jungmi Station Branch,’ to stores nationwide. TwiBot is a frying cooking robot introduced by LG Electronics’ in-house venture, which automatically moves the tray to cook when the battered ingredients are placed on the machine.
It is characterized by technology optimized for the cooking manual of bhc Chicken’s menu. bhc Chicken participated in the initial research and development of TwiBot to implement its unique recipe and provided LG Electronics with a solution optimized for frying cooking.
bhc Chicken aims to maximize franchise operation efficiency through the introduction of TwiBot. In fact, the food service industry, including chicken franchises, is facing the need for measures in store operations due to increased labor costs and labor shortages. Additionally, due to the nature of the repetitive cooking process that requires frying fresh meat in hot oil for a long time, there have been many concerns about improving the cooking environment to enhance safety and consistency.
bhc Chicken expects that automating cooking with TwiBot will improve not only manpower management in stores but also safety and consistency in the cooking process, thereby enhancing operational efficiency for franchise stores.
The manager of bhc Chicken Jungmi Station Branch, which has been using TwiBot since October last year, said, “The biggest concerns so far, such as kitchen manpower supply and cooking safety, have been resolved, allowing for more relaxed operations. Although the seasoning mixing work must be done manually, having the robot fry fresh meat with a consistent cooking method itself is a great help.”
The TwiBot supplied to bhc Chicken will be introduced in a customized manner considering the different kitchen sizes and layouts of each store.
A bhc Chicken official stated, “Since the second half of last year, we have confirmed the operational efficiency of the frying robot through pilot operations, and we plan to expand the introduction of the frying robot through consultations with franchise stores nationwide in the future.” He added, “bhc Chicken will continue to expand efforts for mutual growth between franchise stores and headquarters through various field and technology partnerships and innovations.”
Meanwhile, bhc Chicken currently operates about 2,200 franchise stores nationwide and strives to increase franchise sales and maximize customer satisfaction through the release of two new menus annually and customer-oriented management.
