Haenam-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution in the Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign

Fundraising Goal of 430 Million KRW Exceeded by 158%

Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, was selected as an outstanding institution in the Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign and the 2023 Year-round Fundraising Performance Evaluation hosted by the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea, and received a plaque of appreciation.

According to the county on the 1st, during the Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign period conducted from December last year to the end of January this year, they raised 430 million KRW, exceeding the target amount of 230 million KRW by 158%. Additionally, the year-round fundraising performance amounted to 590 million KRW.

Despite difficult times such as high interest rates, high prices, and high exchange rates, Haenam-gun achieved remarkable fundraising results through the active participation of local businesses, institutions, and residents, adding greater significance.

Kim Dong-geuk, Secretary General of the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea, visited Haenam-gun and said, “We highly evaluate Haenam-gun’s fundraising activities,” and added, “The Community Chest will also strive to contribute to Haenam-gun’s welfare projects through active project support.”

County Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan said, “I am grateful for the warm hearts of the residents toward their neighbors despite difficult conditions such as rising prices,” and added, “We will carefully ensure that the donation amounts are used for important and necessary causes for the residents.”

Last year, Haenam-gun promoted welfare projects worth 620 million KRW, including support for social welfare facilities and livelihood support for neighbors in need, through the Community Chest’s distribution projects.
