Jang In-hwa, Chairman of POSCO Group, called for a 'bold challenge' to achieve great results in his speech commemorating the 56th anniversary of the company's founding on the 1st.
Chairman Jang recalled, "On April 1, 1968, POSCO Group began a great challenge with the mission of contributing to the nation through steelmaking," adding, "Over the past 56 years, we have overcome numerous difficulties through relentless challenges."
He stated, "Only when we boldly challenge without fearing failure can we become a super-gap, world-class company," and urged, "Let us boldly challenge ourselves to achieve even greater results."
He also emphasized the importance of fundamentals. Chairman Jang said, "Let us solidify the basics to stay one step ahead," and added, "If we secure world-class cost and quality competitiveness during times of crisis, we can grow even more significantly when the economy recovers."
He also stressed communication management through the '100-day on-site accompaniment.'
Chairman Jang said, "Immediately after taking office, I started the '100-day on-site accompaniment,' visiting the Pohang Steelworks and Gwangyang Steelworks, the founding sites of the group, as well as the future growth engine sites such as secondary battery materials, to meet you closely." He also said, "Feeling the passionate enthusiasm on site reminded me of the indomitable entrepreneurial spirit and the hard work of our predecessors who faced adversity, strengthening my resolve once again."
Chairman Jang stated, "The love and support from customers, suppliers, partners, shareholders, and local communities have been a solid pillar throughout our 56-year journey," and added, "Through the 100-day on-site accompaniment, I will communicate more closely with you and prepare for our future."
