‘Pohang Marine Corps Culture Festival’ to be Promoted Nationwide... Promotion Committee Appointment Ceremony Held

Held on the 27th-28th at Haebyeong Street and 1st Marine Division

On the 1st, Pohang City held an appointment ceremony for the promotional committee of the '2024 Pohang Marine Corps Culture Festival' at the city hall's medium conference room, targeting the presidents of the National Marine Corps Veterans Association Federation and the heads of the city and county branches of the Gyeongbuk Federation.

Promotion Committee Appointment Ceremony Held On the 1st, Pohang City held an appointment ceremony for the promotional committee members of the '2024 Pohang Marine Corps Culture Festival' in the city council meeting room, targeting the nationwide Marine Corps Veterans Association chairpersons and the heads of the city and county branches of the Gyeongbuk Federation.

At the appointment ceremony, appointment letters were presented to 11 presidents of city and provincial Marine Corps Veterans Association Federations, including Song Il-young, president of the Daejeon Marine Corps Veterans Association Federation, and the president of the Gyeongbuk Federation. The appointed committee members plan to actively promote the festival to attract many tourists nationwide to visit the festival site.


This year, the 'Pohang Marine Corps Culture Festival' will be held for two days from the 27th to the 28th at Haebyeong Street (Seomun Intersection) in Ocheon-eup and the area around the 1st Marine Division.


On the first day of the event, the 27th, there will be an opening ceremony and congratulatory performances, a civil-military harmony parade, a Korea-US Marine Corps flag-raising demonstration performance (military band, Mujeokdo, honor guard), and an opening celebration concert.


On the 28th, the Hot Guy Contest, the civil-military Marine Corps quiz show 'Challenge! Ring the Red Bell,' and the Harmony Festival慰問 Train performance will take place. Throughout the two days of the event, various programs allowing participants to experience Marine Corps culture will be held throughout the festival area.


Vice Mayor Jang Sang-gil said, “We are always grateful to the Marine Corps for leading various trainings and civil support. This year’s festival will be an opportunity to boost the morale of the soldiers and for citizens and tourists to enjoy Marine Corps culture together and experience the indomitable Marine Corps spirit. We ask the promotional committee members for their active promotion and support so that this can become a representative military culture festival of the Republic of Korea.”
