Lee Hae-chan, the Standing Co-Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea's Joint Election Committee, said, "Even if the other side (the ruling party) provokes us, please be careful not to engage in conflicts." As the election approaches, the election committee is focusing on 'risk management.'
On the morning of the 1st, Lee held an election strategy meeting at the party headquarters located in Yeouido, Seoul, stating, "Since last weekend, the attempts to discredit opposition candidates have become excessively severe," and added, "There are reports of clashes among campaign workers, and the risk level seems to be rising." He continued, "Judging from the remarks of the ruling party leadership, it has reached a level that can no longer be tolerated. Candidates must be especially careful to avoid conflicts or accidents during the campaign."

He said, "Now that we have entered April, there are effectively only nine days left in the campaign period," and added, "Looking at the current momentum, party members' morale is high, and there are many expectations." He also analyzed, "There is a strong demand to hold the government accountable, so the election seems to be progressing well."
At the meeting, Kim Boo-kyum, the Standing Co-Chairman of the Joint Election Committee, announced the 'Candidate Behavior Guidelines' requested of Democratic Party candidates. He said, "During the remaining period, candidates, local councilors, and party members should focus all efforts on neighborhood canvassing," and added, "Please refrain from using campaign vehicles and microphones early in the morning or after work hours." He continued, "Even minor violations of election laws must be strictly observed," and urged, "Please uphold the dignity of the Democratic Party until the end." He also emphasized, "Keep in mind that one person's mistake can affect the entire election."
Regarding some candidates who did not participate in broadcast debates, Kim said, "That is not appropriate." He stressed, "Some candidates in our party's stronghold areas did not attend debates," and added, "The stronger the area, the more humble one must be and the more sincere one must be toward voters."
