Korea Investment & Securities Launches Carbon Neutrality Donation Campaign 'WE:walk'

Korea Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of Korea Financial Group, announced on the 1st that it will conduct an employee step donation campaign for carbon neutrality called ‘WE:walk’ throughout April.

With the slogan "With the Earth! walk Together," this campaign will tally the number of steps employees take during April, and upon reaching 100 million steps, a donation will be made to support forest creation. The donation will be used for tree planting to restore the ecosystem of Jungnangcheon Stream in Seoul.

This campaign encouraging walking in daily life is expected not only to reduce carbon emissions but also to promote voluntary environmental protection participation and health improvement among employees. Walking 100 million steps reduces approximately 9,151 kg of carbon compared to traveling the same distance by car.

President Kim Seong-hwan said, "I expect that employees will be able to participate in environmental protection and sharing by paying small attention in their daily lives," adding, "We will continue to lead ESG management by carrying out various social contribution activities to spread a culture of sharing within the organization."

Meanwhile, Korea Investment & Securities also conducted step donation campaigns in 2021 and 2022. The donations raised through employee participation at that time were used to purchase wheelchairs and rehabilitation treatments for disabled children who cannot walk.
