Han Jong-hee, Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics, said on the 1st, "We aim to open the era of 'Bespoke AI,' armed with cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and SmartThings-based connectivity technology," adding, "The products Samsung Electronics will unveil in 2024 are a culmination of AI technology."
In a contributed article posted on Samsung Electronics Newsroom that day, Vice Chairman Han stated, "(This year's Bespoke AI products) are designed to significantly reduce the burden of household chores by integrating various sensors and recognition technologies, big data analysis technologies, high-performance AI chips, and the Tizen operating system (OS)."

Han explained, "With the large screen of the Family Hub refrigerator or the 7-inch touchscreen of the Bespoke AI Combo, you can view and easily control products throughout the home at a glance," adding, "Also, without needing to find a remote control or press buttons, you can easily operate key functions of the products using your smartphone."
He also said, "This year, we plan to apply generative AI to Bespoke AI products to enable natural conversational interactions with the products as if talking with family members," emphasizing, "Moreover, based on Samsung devices' strength in SmartThings, we will showcase more than 100 diverse inter-device connectivity features that will completely transform our lives."
He stated that the core of Bespoke AI is 'security.' Han said, "No matter how advanced AI technology is, it is useless if it cannot protect users," and added, "Samsung Electronics' AI products are protected by 'Samsung Knox' to ensure safe usage, and interconnected Samsung devices enhance security among products by monitoring each other's security status through the blockchain-based 'Knox Matrix.'"
In fact, the latest AI products, the 'Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub Plus' and the 'Bespoke Jetbot Combo AI,' have received the highest 'Diamond' grade in IoT security evaluation from the global certification company UL Solutions.
Han said, "No other products in the global home appliance industry have received UL Solutions' 'Diamond' grade," and added, "Samsung Electronics is continuously researching technologies to further enhance the security of Bespoke AI products and smart homes beyond this achievement."
He also expressed the intention to develop products that go beyond mere convenience to devices that anyone can easily use and that contribute to society by reducing environmental impact.
Han explained, "The all-in-one washer-dryer 'Bespoke AI Combo,' introduced last month, features a large 7-inch LCD screen that allows senior consumers to easily operate it by touch while viewing the screen," adding, "You can also control the product by voice using Bixby, and Samsung Electronics' 'Auto Open Door' technology allows the refrigerator door to be opened with a light touch."
He continued, "Samsung Electronics is striving to reduce the environmental impact of products by utilizing next-generation technologies," adding, "We are dedicated to innovation not only by applying AI technology to save product energy but also by developing technologies that reduce power consumption and carbon emissions of refrigerators using semiconductor devices, and technologies that allow air purifier filters to be used continuously without periodic replacement."
