Enrolled in US TSA PreCheck Program
Security Screening Simplified in New York, LA, and San Francisco
When visiting New York, Los Angeles (LA), and San Francisco in the United States via Air Premia, security screening procedures will be simplified.
On the 1st, Air Premia announced that it has been included as an airline participating in the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA)'s paid airport screening simplification program, 'TSA PreCheck,' since the 28th of last month.
Accordingly, passengers who pre-register for TSA PreCheck will experience simplified security screening procedures at three locations: LA International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, and San Francisco International Airport, which is scheduled to commence service on May 17.
Passengers registered with TSA PreCheck use a dedicated lane for security screening. In the dedicated security lane, shoes, belts, and light outerwear can be worn, and large electronic devices such as laptops can remain in bags during screening.
The TSA PreCheck program is available only to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents. Applicants must apply online on the TSA website and then visit a registration center to complete identity verification and fingerprint registration. The enrollment fee is $85. Once registered, the qualification is valid for five years.
For South Korean nationals, enrolling in the Global Entry program, a customs and immigration expedited processing program managed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), allows free use of the TSA PreCheck program.
Meanwhile, TSA PreCheck is subscribed to by over 90 airlines worldwide. In South Korea, Air Premia is the third airline to join, following Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.
An Air Premia official stated, "TSA PreCheck benefits are applicable at over 200 airports within the United States," adding, "The convenience for passengers on Air Premia’s routes to the Americas will be further enhanced."
