Goal to Operate 33 Stores Within the Year
Woori Bank announced on the 1st that it has opened unmanned branches, ‘Digital Express (EXPRESS)’ Gangnam Kyobo Tower Branch and Sinsa Station Branch, and has begun full-scale operations.
Woori Bank’s Digital Express is an unmanned branch based on video consultation. Customers visiting here can handle various banking tasks such as deposit subscription, loan consultation, and overseas remittance using the latest digital devices like digital desks and smart kiosks instead of bank counters.
Woori Bank has opened these branches mainly in areas where existing branches have been withdrawn or in areas with high foot traffic, and is currently operating 10 Digital Express branches nationwide.
In particular, considering the surrounding foot traffic, the Gangnam Kyobo Tower Branch and Sinsa Station Branch will extend their operating hours by 2 hours, from 4 PM to 6 PM. Additionally, Woori Bank has advanced its non-face-to-face video consultation service, expanding the number of tasks that can be handled at unmanned branches from 43 to 56.
A Woori Bank official stated, “To improve convenience for customers who find it difficult to visit branches during banking hours, we have extended the operating hours of Digital Express and expanded the services provided. Woori Bank plans to expand Digital Express to 33 branches mainly in areas with high foot traffic within this year.”
