Placement of Traffic Safety Instructors on Children's Commute Routes in Guro-gu

22 Traffic Safety Instructors Assigned to 8 Elementary Schools

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) is operating the ‘Children’s School Commute Traffic Safety Guidance Project’ to ensure the safe commute of children to and from school.

In February, Guro-gu recruited 22 traffic safety guides through an open call and assigned them to eight elementary schools in the area.

The traffic safety guides accompany lower-grade elementary school children who share the same commuting route at designated times and places. They inform the children about traffic safety rules, lead them, and help prevent various safety accidents and child crimes, receiving great support from parents.

A Guro-gu official stated, “We have been continuously promoting the Children’s School Commute Traffic Safety Guidance Project since 2012,” and added, “We will strive to create school routes where both children and parents can feel safe.”
