Kim Seung-yeon, Chairman of Hanwha Group, visited Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park on the 29th. The game that day was also the KBO League return game of Ryu Hyun-jin, who was recently signed by the Hanwha Eagles.

On the 29th at 6:30 PM, Hanwha will play their first home game of the season against the KT Wiz at the Daejeon stadium. Chairman Kim made a surprise visit to the stadium two hours before the game started.

Chairman Kim entered the stadium's skybox, watching the players' training, conversed with Park Chan-hyuk, President of Hanwha Eagles, and encouraged some of the players.

This was Chairman Kim's first visit to the stadium in 5 years and 5 months since October 19, 2018, when Hanwha advanced to the postseason. At that time, he watched the first game of the playoff series between Hanwha and Nexen Heroes (now Kiwoom).

Back then, he also gave a rose to each of the approximately 13,000 spectators filling the stadium. He delivered a message saying, "Thank you to the Eagles fans who have sent passionate support beyond wins and losses despite 11 years of poor performance."

This season, the "Korean Monster" Ryu Hyun-jin returns to the KBO League after 12 years. Earlier, Hanwha announced that they had signed Ryu Hyun-jin, who played 11 seasons in the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) last month. Ryu said, "I promised to come back to Hanwha while I am healthy, and I am moved that I can keep that promise," adding, "I will work together with the players to reach the postseason."
