Preschool and Kindergarten Children, 3rd-4th Grade Elementary Students...Fostering the Value of Respect for Life
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seongheon) will operate the 2024 Children's Animal Protection Classroom for 6-7-year-old children in daycare centers and kindergartens, as well as 3rd-4th grade elementary school students in the area, to convey the importance of animals and enhance the value of respect for life.
A specialized animal protection education organization will visit each classroom and conduct 40-minute sessions until the end of November this year. The target audience includes about 2,500 children in 150 classes.
The content covers basic pet etiquette, prevention of animal safety accidents, companion animals' behavioral language, and respect for life, using customized teaching aids and animations designed for children to participate easily and enjoyably.
Interested institutions can download the application form from the Seodaemun-gu Office website's notice section, fill it out, and submit it via email by 6 p.m. on April 3. For more details, contact the Animal Protection Team of the Health and Hygiene Division at Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center.
Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, "Through the Children's Animal Protection Classroom, I hope children learn proper pet etiquette for companion animals and practice love for animals."
