Bflysoft announced on the 29th that it held the 26th regular general meeting of shareholders at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul and decided to change its company name to ‘BECUAI’. The shareholders' meeting was held with the attendance of shareholders and key company executives.
The agenda items for the meeting included the name change, approval of the 26th individual financial statements, and the appointment of internal and external directors, all of which were approved.
On the day, Bflysoft reported sales of 16.9 billion KRW and an operating profit of 260 million KRW for the previous year. While its existing core service ‘iSurfer’ continued to generate stable revenue, the supply of the new platform ‘RDPLINE (Real-time Data PipeLine)’ to large corporations was fully launched, leading to increased sales and a turnaround to profitability last year.
RDPLINE is a platform that provides high-quality original and refined news data essential for training generative artificial intelligence (AI). Bflysoft launched RDPLINE last year and consecutively signed supply contracts for the platform with leading domestic corporations such as Samsung Electronics, KT, SKT, and LG.
Additionally, Bflysoft carried out organizational restructuring, workforce, and cost efficiency improvements through a small-scale merger with WegoData last year. Through this, the company showed a turnaround in both operating profit and net profit within a year and a half of its technical special listing.
At the shareholders' meeting, Kyunghwan Lim, CEO of Bflysoft and the chairperson of the meeting, said, “We will leave the name ‘Bflysoft’ that has continued since our founding in history and take over its roots to make a new leap forward under the new name ‘BECUAI.’ Based on the big data, related technology, and know-how accumulated over more than 20 years in the media field, we will establish ourselves as a core company in the AI sector.”
He added, “We plan to expand our independently developed data preprocessing technology to broader fields and engage in data acquisition, research, solution, and platform development for AI. We will establish a data preprocessing center in Vietnam to promote operational efficiency and provide a foundation for generative AI development, presenting a new vision for AI to continue qualitative and quantitative growth.”
