Securing 100 Million Won in Special Grants
On the 29th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it was selected as the 'Best' institution in the '2023 Second Half Fiscal Execution Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety targeting 243 local governments nationwide, securing a special grant of 100 million won.
The local fiscal execution evaluation is a comprehensive budget execution assessment conducted annually to mitigate economic shocks through rapid fiscal input in the public sector and to ensure the efficiency of fiscal management.
Last year, the city executed 1.2527 trillion won in the local fiscal sector, achieving an execution rate of 85.7% against the total target amount. Despite a decrease in tax revenues such as local grants, the city focused on executing budgets supporting vulnerable groups and small business owners through high-intensity expenditure restructuring. It also promoted regional economic revitalization by actively managing large-scale investment projects, executing an additional 46.8 billion won (7%) compared to the previous year.
Previously, Anseong City was also selected as an 'Excellent' institution in the fiscal execution evaluation in the first half of last year.
Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong City, said, "Since difficulties are expected in the local economy this first half of the year due to rising prices and a downturn in the construction industry, we will overcome these challenging times through prompt fiscal execution to prevent the local economy from shrinking."
