Wando-gun Holds 'Agricultural College Entrance Ceremony' to Foster Talent Leading Agricultural Development

35 Students Enrolled, 428 Graduated Until Last Year... Operation of Smart Agriculture Class

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do held the '13th Wando-gun Agricultural College Entrance Ceremony' on the 28th to cultivate professional farmers through technical education necessary for agricultural development.


According to the county on the 29th, about 50 people attended the entrance ceremony, including County Governor Shin Woo-cheol, Shim Man-seop, president of the general alumni association, alumni association presidents by class, and 35 new students.

After the entrance ceremony, an orientation was held to share self-introductions and academic schedules, followed by a special lecture on 'Health Management for Agricultural College Students' by instructor Kim Hee-yeon.


This year's Agricultural College will be operated as a Smart Agriculture course, covering a total of 25 sessions and 111 hours of academic schedule, including eco-friendly cultivation techniques for fruit trees, vegetables, and specialty crops, soil and pest control techniques, distribution and marketing, tax and legal theories that farmers should know, field training, and visits to excellent farms.


Wando-gun Agricultural College started with an eco-friendly agriculture course in 2011 and has operated new courses every year, producing a total of 428 graduates up to last year.


Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, "I hope the Smart Agriculture course will strengthen the capabilities of farmers and lead the development of Wando agriculture," adding, "The county will also do its best to continuously communicate with farmers and respond swiftly to the changing agricultural environment."
