On the 29th, the Hwasun Branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation announced that it conducted a joint environmental cleanup event and 3NO campaign to strengthen water quality conservation activities at Geumjeon Reservoir located in Geumjeon-ri, Hancheon-myeon, Hwasun-gun, with the participation of about 50 people including Hancheon-myeon officials, the Environmental Preservation Committee, and village residents.
They collected 1 ton of various floating debris such as garbage around the upper stream area of Geumjeon Reservoir, household waste, discarded vinyl, and Styrofoam that had flowed into the reservoir, and carried out the 3NO campaign targeting village residents and tourists to conserve water quality (▲ Do not discharge livestock manure ▲ Do not use immature compost ▲ Do not discharge water pollutants).
Geumjeon Reservoir is located in Geumjeon-ri, Hancheon-myeon, Hwasun-gun, with a watershed area of 3,147 hectares and a beneficiary area of 766 hectares, making it a reservoir rich in water resources.
Kim Gijin, head of the Hwasun Branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation, said, "As public awareness of health and a clean environment has recently increased, we will do our best to preserve the rural environment through regular environmental cleanup events and guidance activities with local governments."
