Jung Jun-ho: "We Will Create a Typhoon of Democratic Party Victory"
Jeon Jin-sook: "We Will Heed the Citizens' Aspirations"
Kim Boo-kyum, the co-chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea's joint election campaign committee, held a support rally on the morning of the 29th at the joint launch event in Buk-gu (Gap) of Gwangju Metropolitan City.
Chairman Kim stated, "The citizens of Gwangju created the Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun, and Moon Jae-in administrations and showed infinite affection, but the Democratic Party failed to establish the government," and added, "I am deeply sorry to the citizens of Gwangju that the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement has still not been properly established as a constitutional value."
He continued, "For our children to freely nurture their dreams even in Gwangju and Jeonnam, the Energy Valley of the innovation city jointly established by Gwangju and Jeonnam must create future growth engines," and appealed to the citizens, saying, "Please give a chance to the Democratic Party and candidates Jeong Jun-ho and Jeon Jin-sook through voting on April 10 to build the future of Gwangju's youth."
Jeong Jun-ho, the candidate for Buk-gu Gap, said, "Gwangju Buk-gu is the only region nationwide where youth and women have been chosen as candidates by defeating incumbent lawmakers, and it is a region ready to welcome the future," and appealed, "Please help make the Democratic Party's sweeping victory in Gwangju Buk-gu a nationwide typhoon that can pass through the Seoul metropolitan area, Daegu, Busan, and Yeongnam."
He also said, "At a time when the People Power Party should be discussing people's livelihoods and prices, they are only obsessed with mental victories," and affirmed, "The Democratic Party will become a ruling party that meets the people's expectations through victories in people's livelihoods and the citizens of Gwangju, not through mental victories."
Jeon Jin-sook, the candidate for Buk-gu Eul, said, "In one year, about 7,000 young people in Gwangju leave because they say 'there is nothing to do in Gwangju,' 'we cannot change the future,' and 'we cannot find new jobs,'" and promised, "Young politician Jeong Jun-ho and female politician Jeon Jin-sook here will make Buk-gu a vibrant city again, a city where youth lives and breathes."
She added, "I will listen carefully to the strong desire expressed by residents to restore Honam politics, and to create Honam politics that is not confined to Honam but becomes the center of Korean politics," and urged, "Please join us so that the power to judge the Yoon Seok-yeol administration can start here in Gwangju Buk-gu."
