Kang Eun-mi Announces Key Pledge for Development of Gwangju Seo-gu

Solving National Issues Such as Low Birthrate Crisis and Climate Crisis

Gang Eun-mi, the Green Justice Party candidate for Seo-gu (Eul), Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced key pledges to address major social issues such as the low birthrate crisis and climate crisis, as well as to resolve local issues in Gwangju and promote the development of Seo-gu.


To overcome the low birthrate crisis, the pledges focus on reducing disparities in employment, income (wages), housing, childcare, education, and healthcare sectors.

Specifically, she promised to expand long-term public rental housing and institutionalize safe and transparent real estate transactions to prevent jeonse fraud. She also pledged to increase regular public sector jobs in care services and introduce standard wage systems by industry and sector.


Candidate Gang stated, “Due to income and asset inequality, young people cannot dream of the future because of high housing costs, unstable labor conditions, and competitive pressure. The low birthrate issue can only be solved by addressing social inequality. We will first eliminate the disparities that make the future of youth uncertain and create an institutional environment where raising children is possible.”


She continued, “The climate crisis has caused agricultural product prices to plummet and soar, unpredictable abnormal temperatures, and the normalization of heatwaves and cold spells. The climate crisis is not a distant future issue but a problem that directly strikes our livelihoods right now.”


Along with this, she announced pledges divided into energy transition, transportation, and housing sectors to overcome the climate crisis. Regarding energy, she promised to expand renewable energy and establish an RE100 green industrial complex. She also stated plans to implement a 10,000 won public transportation free pass and conduct green remodeling starting with public aging housing. In particular, she revealed that semiconductor and secondary battery companies would be attracted to the RE100 green industrial complex to promote Gwangju’s development.


She also explained that a responsibility compensation system would be introduced for damages caused by the urban railway construction, which is the biggest local issue.


Regarding allegations of price inflation and preferential treatment in Central Park District 1, she announced plans to conduct a national audit.


Additionally, she announced a wide range of pledges for regional development, including the completion of negotiations for the relocation of the Maluek-dong ammunition depot and the expansion of local love gift certificates. She also presented pledges tailored to each neighborhood.


Candidate Gang Eun-mi explained, “If a proven candidate is elected as the National Assembly member representing Seo-gu, it will be possible to make Seo-gu even prouder.”
