Over 450 New Students Attend Including Undergraduates, Graduate Students, Language Trainees, and Exchange Students
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) successfully held the ‘2024 Spring Semester Foreign New Student Welcome Ceremony.’

The event, held on the 27th at Dawoo Hall on the Bumin Campus, was attended by about 450 people, including Park Hyun-tae, Director of the Office of International Affairs, staff from the International Exchange Department, new students, and current students.
The ceremony proceeded with the Director of the Office of International Affairs’ congratulatory speech, new students’ admission oath, welcome speech by current students and response by new students, introduction of the international student supporters group ‘DAILY,’ and more. It provided valuable information to promote interaction among foreign students and help them adapt to university life. Additionally, a school promotional video screening and a Taekwondo demonstration team performance were arranged, receiving enthusiastic responses from the international students.
Director Park said, “It may not be easy to study while adapting to an unfamiliar environment, but you are private diplomatic envoys and global talents who will serve as a bridge connecting Korea and your home countries. Dong-A University will act as a gateway for you to advance globally. I hope you become proud Dong-A members and achieve all the dreams you wish to accomplish in the future.”
Nguyen Thi Thu Nguyen (Vietnam, 3rd year, Department of International Trade), representing current students, said in her welcome speech, “You can gain more experiences at Dong-A University than ever before, so don’t miss this opportunity and work hard. We sincerely welcome the new students, and the senior international students will join hands to support you diligently.”
Yuldoshev Behruz (Uzbekistan, 1st year, Department of Convergence Management), representing new students, shared, “I believe university life is the beginning of growth and challenge. I want to grow into a leader who works together and cooperates to create a better world. I am happy to start this wonderful adventure.”
This semester, Dong-A University admitted 430 foreign new students from 29 countries including Vietnam, China, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, enrolling as undergraduates, language training students, exchange students, and graduate students. As of last semester, Dong-A University has over 1,600 international students from 47 countries currently enrolled.
