President Yoon: "Doing our best to establish and expand Neulbom School"
President Yoon Suk-yeol visited an elementary school conducting Neulbom School on the 29th and participated as a special one-day instructor. This was an action to keep his promise to personally contribute his talents to Neulbom School.
On that day, President Yoon visited Ain Elementary School in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and as a special one-day instructor for the first-grade tailored program of Neulbom School, he watched the Nuri rocket launch video with the children and read picture books related to space and rockets. The first-grade tailored program is a program that provides free 2-hour daily sessions of school adaptation, play-centered creativity and science, and arts and physical education programs for first graders who wish to attend Neulbom School.
Previously, President Yoon had visited Neulbom School several times to personally check the on-site situation, emphasized talent donation from various sectors, and expressed his intention to personally practice talent donation. President Yoon attended Neulbom School held at Oryong Elementary School in Muan, Jeollanam-do, and Myeongryun Elementary School in Wonju, Gangwon-do, on the 14th and 21st, respectively.
First, he visited the classroom where the first-grade tailored program was in progress, watched the Nuri rocket launch video with the children, read picture books related to space and rockets, and then flew a model of the Nuri rocket with the children while explaining the rocket's propulsion principle to them.
Afterwards, he discussed the experiences of operating Neulbom School over the past four weeks and successful operation plans with the principal of Ain Elementary School, dedicated Neulbom staff, teachers, and Neulbom instructors. President Yoon said, "Ain Elementary School in the new town has many students and classes, so space is limited, but they are operating various Neulbom programs by making good use of the space within the school," and added, "I thank the teachers and school officials who are working hard for the children."
Officials from Ain Elementary School said, "Through Neulbom School, children have been able to access high-quality programs in various fields such as physical education, culture, and arts, opening a new learning opportunity, and the dedicated Neulbom staff and instructors have expanded their activity areas and gained more opportunities such as jobs through the introduction of Neulbom School."
In response, President Yoon promised, "Once a national care system centered on Neulbom School is established, children will be able to play and study freely, develop imagination and creativity, and grow up healthily," and added, "The government will do its best to quickly settle and expand Neulbom School, a core policy that will change the future of the Republic of Korea."
