Students with Outstanding Talents in Literature, Technology, and Physical Education
On the 27th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do held the Talent Development Fund Deliberation Committee and announced the selection of 129 scholarship students.
Gurye-gun selected scholarship students recommended by the Gurye Education Support Office Superintendent and high school principals, not only based on academic performance but also on outstanding talents in various fields such as literature, technology, and sports, as well as students from low-income families and multi-child households.
Among the scholarship recipients, 20 were elementary school students, 30 middle school students, 45 high school students, and 34 university students, including 25 with excellent academic records and 9 from multi-child families.
The county plans to distribute a total of 116 million KRW in scholarships to students in April. Elementary school students will receive 200,000 KRW, middle school students 300,000 KRW, high school students 1 million KRW, and university students up to 2 million KRW.
Additionally, the county decided to provide 300,000 KRW starting from the second half of this year to out-of-school youth who have passed the qualification exam, supporting those striving for their dreams and hopes despite difficult circumstances.
Kim Sun-ho, the chairman of the Talent Development Fund Deliberation Committee and the county governor, said, “Gurye-gun has been operating the Talent Development Fund since 1995 and invested 1.5 billion KRW in scholarships and educational projects this year as well. We will generously support the nurturing of talents who will lead regional development.”
