April Construction Start, Late November Completion: Dong-gu 9.32km, Jung-gu 9.51km, and More
The Daejeon City Waterworks Headquarters announced that it will spend 28.2 billion KRW this year to replace 42.67 km of aging water pipes.
The Waterworks Headquarters plans to start construction in April and complete it by the end of November, replacing aging water pipes in the original downtown area, including 9.32 km in Dong-gu, 9.51 km in Jung-gu, 7.73 km in Seo-gu, 8.11 km in Yuseong-gu, and 8.00 km in Daedeok-gu.
Once the construction is completed, it is expected to provide clearer and cleaner tap water and minimize financial losses caused by leaks.
The headquarters plans to replace about 50 km of water pipes annually with an annual budget of approximately 28 billion KRW.
A Waterworks Headquarters official stated, “We will do our best to supply high-quality tap water through the replacement of aging water pipes and other projects,” adding, “Since some traffic inconveniences for citizens are expected due to the construction, we ask for the active cooperation of citizens to ensure the construction is completed safely.”
