2024 Young Choreographers' Creative Performance Opens on the 24th of Next Month

12 Choreographers' Passionate Stage

The 2024 Young Choreographers Creative Performance, hosted by the Korea Dance Association and organized by the Young Choreographers Creative Performance Steering Committee, will be held from April 24 to May 1 at the Daehangno Arts Theater Small Theater.

Twelve young choreographers who will lead the future of Korean dance are expected to present passionate performances with diverse and unique works.

The Young Choreographers Creative Performance is a stage where emerging choreographers under the age of 35 showcase their world premiere works. On January 11, an audition was held at the Korea National University of Arts Dance Department with 56 choreographers participating, and finally, 12 were selected.

The 12 choreographers will present their works over four days, with three choreographers performing each day. The performance dates are April 24, April 26, April 28, and May 1.

The Young Choreographers Creative Performance Steering Committee announced that the production support fund for the 12 selected choreographers has been increased to 3 million KRW this year. Last year's support was 2 million KRW.

The best choreographer will be awarded the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to perform as invited works at the 45th Seoul Dance Festival's 'Passion Dance Floor'.
