April 1-12... Support of 200,000 KRW per month for up to 12 months
Daejeon City announced that it will actively promote the youth monthly rent support project this year.
Applicants must be homeless youth households aged 19 to 39 with an address in Daejeon City as of the application date, have an income below 150% of the median income, and reside in housing with a rental deposit of 100 million KRW or less and monthly rent of 600,000 KRW or less, or in university or company dormitories, goshiwon, or residential officetels. For households with two or more members, the applicant must be a homeless household head who qualifies as youth, and all household members including the head must be homeless.
The support amount is up to 200,000 KRW per month, totaling up to 2.4 million KRW for 12 months. If the monthly rent is less than 200,000 KRW, support will be provided for the actual rent paid.
The number of selected applicants is up to 1,500, and an additional 1,500 will be selected in the second half of the year, planning to support a total of 3,000 people this year.
The application period is from April 1 to 12. Applicants must apply directly as tenants through the Daejeon Youth Monthly Rent Support website or the Daejeon Youth Portal. This support cannot be combined with other housing finance support projects promoted by the government or local governments, such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s youth monthly rent support project or Daejeon youth housing rental deposit interest support project.
The city plans to prioritize applicants with higher total scores by applying a weighting ratio of 60% income and 40% rent for each support target. The selection results will be announced on May 29 on the monthly rent support website and will also be notified individually via text message.
Min Dong-hee, Director of Welfare Bureau of Daejeon City, said, “Through this Daejeon Youth Monthly Rent Support Project, we hope that economically vulnerable youth in the region can establish a foundation for independence and settle down stably.”
