70-Year-Old Owner Attacked by 40kg Large Dog... Police Subdue with Taser Gun

Dog Bite Incident Occurs as Leash Breaks

An incident occurred where a large dog weighing 40kg attacked its owner, and the police who arrived on the scene subdued the large dog using a taser gun.

On the 28th, the official YouTube channel of the National Police Agency uploaded a video titled "A person was bitten, a critical emergency situation." In the released footage, a report of "a dog bit a person" was received by the police on the 27th of last month. When the police who responded opened the gate of the house and entered, a man in his 70s, Mr. A, was lying inside the yard.

As the police tried to approach the dog, Mr. A's family urgently shouted, "Don't come, don't come." However, the large dog without a leash immediately charged at the police upon seeing them. The police did not hesitate and fired the taser gun at the large dog. The large dog collapsed after being hit by the taser and was eventually handed over to the fire rescue team.

Mr. A, who was bitten on the neck and head by the large dog, was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, it is reported that his life is not in danger.

The police stated, "It appears that the old leash of the large dog could not withstand the weight of the dog, which is about 40kg, and broke, causing the accident."

Meanwhile, dog bite incidents involving body parts bitten by fierce dogs occur repeatedly every year. According to last year's data, the total number of dog bite patient transports over five years was 11,502 cases, averaging about 2,300 cases annually.

If attacked by a dog, running away can be perceived as a signal to "keep chasing," so you should lie still, cover your neck with both hands, or lean against a wall. If the dog's attack continues, call for help, and if there are sticks or long objects nearby, throw them as far as possible to distract the dog's attention.
