Naver Strengthens 'MY Golf' Community Features... Supports From Small Groups to Tournaments

Naver announced on the 29th that it has launched a new 'MY Golf' with enhanced community features.

This update includes an open beta of the 'Round' feature, which allows the creation, recruitment, operation, and communication of small golf gatherings to amateur golf tournaments, as well as features such as golfer reviews, profile settings, and friend follow.

With the MY Golf Round feature, users can easily create meetings or tournaments and set round locations, schedules, and participation conditions. Additionally, tournament guidelines and participant notices can be announced as notices, and functions such as group formation, participant management, award management, and sponsor settings support convenient operation of meetings or tournaments. For amateur golf tournaments that require participant recruitment, tournaments can be exposed and participants recruited through N Golf.

Furthermore, fair rounds can be conducted using the official handicap introduced last year by Naver, the Korea Golf Association, and SmartScore. When playing rounds at golf courses linked with SmartScore, scores are automatically synced and rankings are calculated, enabling convenient operation.

In addition, community activation has continued through features such as OpenTalk, which supports watching golf broadcasts together, and 'PickN Golf,' Korea's first golf fantasy game, both of which are supported in this MY Golf update.

Users can create tournament or meeting communities where participants can directly upload photos, videos, and posts to communicate and share memories. Linked with Naver OpenTalk, users can continuously communicate on golf topics before and after rounds. After the round ends, a golfer review system is introduced for the first time, allowing evaluation of golfers' manners and skills during the round.

Moreover, users can set their profiles in MY Golf and visit others' profiles to follow them, enabling ongoing relationships with various golfers even after rounds are finished.

Jung Hyun-soo, Naver Sports leader, stated, "Reflecting diverse feedback from sports fans, we plan to discuss adding various features such as participation fee payment and hole-in-one care insurance in the official version of the round feature in the future."

Meanwhile, Naver Sports has acquired broadcasting rights for the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) and the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA), broadcasting a total of 48 tournaments live this year, and actively provides cheering spaces where individual player fans can gather using the 'Watch Broadcast Together' feature within OpenTalk.
