Gangbuk-gu Expands 1:1 Career and Academic Counseling Starting This Year... Operated Monthly

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will operate a '1:1 Career and College Admission Counseling' service starting in April to help students preparing for college entrance exams with efficient academic planning, and is now recruiting applicants.

According to a satisfaction survey on the 1:1 career and college admission counseling conducted last year, many participants requested an increase in the number of sessions. In response, the counseling sessions, which were held twice a year, will be expanded to once a month starting this April, allowing 244 teams to receive counseling this year compared to 160 teams last year.

High school students and graduates residing or attending school in Gangbuk-gu, as well as their parents, can receive counseling free of charge. The counselors are active teachers recommended by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Education Research and Information Institute.

Counseling sessions will be held from 6:20 PM to 9:15 PM on the last Tuesday of every month starting in April at the multipurpose conference room on the 6th floor of Gangbuk-gu Office. Each month, 12 teams consisting of students or parents will be counseled. Each session lasts 40 minutes, and participants can choose from four time slots: 1st session (6:20 PM?7:00 PM), 2nd session (7:05 PM?7:45 PM), 3rd session (7:50 PM?8:30 PM), and 4th session (8:35 PM?9:15 PM).

Each team can apply for the 1:1 career and college admission counseling up to twice a year. In April, 12 teams will be accepted, and counseling will be held on the 30th. During August and December, when early and regular college admissions take place, 80 teams will be served each month.

Applicants can register starting at 9:00 AM on the 1st of every month through the integrated reservation system under Citizen Participation and District Administration Participation on the Gangbuk-gu website. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and teams confirmed for counseling will be notified individually. For further inquiries, please check the Gangbuk-gu website or contact the Education Support Division.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee of Gangbuk-gu said, “We hope this 1:1 career and college admission counseling will help students and parents develop effective college entrance strategies,” and added, “We will continue to show interest and provide support so that Gangbuk-gu students can achieve their desired career paths and academic goals.”
