Eunpyeong-gu Selected for Autonomous District Support Project "Walking Together with the Vulnerable"

Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 20th that the ‘Adding Health to Care’ project was selected in the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s contest for autonomous districts accompanying the vulnerable, securing a project budget of 45 million KRW.

The district added a cognitive impairment (dementia) screening stage using smart technology to the existing ‘Adding Health to Care’ project, which supports education on chronic diseases and fall prevention as well as customized health services.

By providing preventive education and information on common elderly diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, falls, and fractures, the project helps with early detection of cognitive impairment and combines appropriate treatment and management. It also offers welfare, health, and integrated care services so that elderly people without caregivers can manage their health independently.

‘Adding to Care,’ which has been operating since May 2022, is a specialized project within Eunpyeong-gu’s ‘Care SOS’ program, providing step-by-step customized integrated care support services through health consultations for care recipients.

This project was recognized for its excellence by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and expanded and reorganized into the ‘Seoul Care SOS Customized Health Care Support Project,’ currently implemented in 25 autonomous districts across Seoul.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “Through the selection in this contest, it has become possible to provide preventive care services using smart technology. By utilizing the expertise of nursing care managers at community service centers, we will work to prevent chronic diseases, falls, and cognitive impairment, strengthen the self-health management abilities of care recipients, and create a welfare city Eunpyeong where residents can live continuously.”
