Gyeonggi Province will operate a ‘Marine Leisure Sports Education Program’ from April to the end of this year to expand and revitalize the marine leisure culture.
This education program will be conducted at ▲Siheung-Wave Park·Sihwa Lake ▲Gimpo-Aramarina ▲Ansan-Tando Port ▲Hwaseong-Jeongok Marina ▲Gapyeong-North Han River.
Gyeonggi Province will run the education program divided into general experience courses and professional certification courses.
The experience courses include 9 education programs such as marine leisure safety experience education, and the professional courses consist of 5 programs including leisure vessel operation license acquisition education for yachts and boats.
Any Gyeonggi resident can participate on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no separate tuition fee for the general experience courses, and Gyeonggi Province supports 50% of the tuition fee for the professional education programs.
Those who wish to participate can apply by visiting the Gyeonggi Sea Integrated Portal (www.ggbada.co.kr).
Kim Bong-hyun, Director of the Marine Fisheries Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "As the number of residents wishing to engage in marine leisure activities increases, we plan to continuously expand opportunities for everyone to enjoy safely and easily."
Meanwhile, about 25,000 residents participated in the marine leisure sports education program last year.
