‘2024 Gijang Hope Lighthouse Sharing Project Embracing Happiness’
Busan Gijang-gun, together with the Gijang-gun Community Social Security Council, will actively promote the 2024 ‘Gijang Happiness Embracing Hope Lighthouse Sharing Project.’
This project is a sharing initiative jointly conducted by Gijang-gun, the Gijang-gun Community Social Security Council, and the Busan Community Chest of Korea, following a business agreement signed in 2019 to establish a continuous support system for welfare blind spots and strengthen public-private cooperation.
By using voluntary fundraising by local residents as project funds, it aims to create a welfare community where neighbors help neighbors, while promoting multifaceted welfare projects addressing local social issues centered on the Community Social Security Council.
The funds raised through fundraising and sharing activities are fully used as project expenses for revitalizing the Community Social Security Council, discovering welfare crisis households, and supporting vulnerable welfare groups. Last year, 65 million KRW was used to carry out 17 detailed projects, supporting 347 vulnerable residents.
This year, the county plans to continue various sharing activities by strengthening cooperation with private welfare organizations within the region, centered on the county, eup, and myeon Community Social Security Councils.
▲ Longevity Photo Shooting Project (Gijang-gun) ▲ Home Repair Support Project (Gijang-eup) ▲ Youth Learning Platform Support Project (Jeonggwan-eup) ▲ Side Dish Support Project (Jangan-eup) ▲ Child and Youth Academy Fee Support Project (Ilgwang-eup) ▲ Kitchenware Support Project (Cheolma-myeon), and other 21 customized welfare projects reflecting regional characteristics will be promoted.
Kwon Myoyeon, the private chairman of the Gijang-gun Community Social Security Council, said, “We will continue activities to actively solve local welfare issues.”
County Governor Jeong Jongbok said, “I hope that the culture of donation will spread further in our region through the promotion of various sharing projects reflecting local characteristics,” adding, “We will build a tight welfare safety net based on public-private cooperation to eliminate welfare blind spots.”
