Shin Jeong-hoon Launches 'Minsheng Camp'... Official Election Campaign Begins

On the morning of the 28th at 10 a.m., Shin Jeong-hoon, the Democratic Party candidate for Naju·Hwasun, held the ‘Shin Jeong-hoon Livelihood Campaign Launch Ceremony’ in front of Hwasun Goindol Traditional Market, marking the first day of the official election campaign period for the 22nd general election, and vowed victory.

The launch ceremony was attended by about 300 people, including Moon Haeng-ju, Yoon Young-min, and Moon Jeong-gyun, standing election committee chairpersons, as well as Ha Seong-dong, Im Ji-rak, Ryu Ki-jun, Kim Seok-bong, Jo Myeong-sun, Kang Jae-hong, Jeong Yeon-ji, Oh Hyeong-yeol, Jo Se-hyeon, and Ryu Young-gil, joint election committee chairpersons.

Key figures of the election committee and campaign workers gathered at the launch ceremony to judge the Yoon Seok-yeol administration’s regression of democracy and destruction of people’s livelihoods, and to unite their determination for a landslide victory in the general election where the people win.

Candidate Shin Jeong-hoon emphasized, “While the common people are struggling due to soaring prices, the government and ruling party manipulate prices with just a word, and they must be held accountable,” adding, “We must raise a cane against this administration that has destroyed the livelihood economy in just two years.”

He also stated, “To achieve an overwhelming victory in the April 10 general election, we have formed an inclusive and harmonious ‘unified election committee,’” and pledged, “With a humbler attitude, I will carry out the solemn mission entrusted by the people of Hwasun County, defend the party against Yoon Seok-yeol’s prosecutorial dictatorship regime, and lead the general election to victory together with Representative Lee Jae-myung, laying the bridgehead for regime change.”

A support speech titled ‘We Are Shin Jeong-hoon’ by small business owners followed.

A small business owner in his 30s who gave the speech said, “Not only has growth stopped, but with rising prices and interest rates and even a recession, we have entered an era of economic downturn. What small business owners expect above all is economic growth,” emphasizing, “We must judge the Yoon Seok-yeol administration. We must raise a cane to wake them up.”

He added, “Candidate Shin Jeong-hoon is someone who will fight against the Yoon Seok-yeol government and understands the hardships of the common people well.”

Meanwhile, Candidate Shin declared that he would “open the era of ultra-wide local government” and promised to make Hwasun the hub of biomedical in South Korea.

Specifically, he announced promises to create a greater Hwasun through ▲ a Korean-style Boston biomedical cluster ▲ the ‘Zolperine Project’ for the development of a closed mine complex tourism district ▲ the establishment of a metropolitan transportation system between Gwangju and Hwasun ▲ and the promotion of an ecological environment circulation project.
